First Student is hiring immediately for a Diesel Mechanic for our shop serving Plymouth and the surrounding school districts!

Hourly wage of $32.00 - $36.50 per union contract (NOT flat-rate)
ASE incentive of $0.25/hour for each relevant ASE earned (we pay for your training materials and exams!) - Six ASEs required within six months of hire
Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm and 8:30 am -5:00 pm, full-time schedule

About the Diesel Mechanic Role:
At First Student, our Diesel Mechanics perform routine and complex maintenance to keep our school bus fleet road-ready. You'll use your expertise to diagnose and repair issues, ensuring maximum safety and reliability. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and repairing brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
Completing and documenting work orders
Assisting with mobile emergency services when needed
All Diesel Mechanics are subject to DOT drug testing as safety-sensitive employees. Please note that DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

You have 3-5 years of experience working on automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
You have a valid driver's license and are willing to obtain a CDL (we'll train you!)
