About the Role:

As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing preventive dental care to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform thorough dental cleanings, assess patients' oral health, and educate them on proper dental hygiene practices. You will work closely with dentists to develop treatment plans and assist in various dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to safety protocols. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to improving patients' overall health and well-being through effective dental care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid dental hygiene license in the state of Texas.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with patients of all ages
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish)
• Certification in local anesthesia administration (not required)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal examinations to assess patients' oral health.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Periodontal probing and recording
• Strict adherence to infection control standards and processes (including instrument processing, and assisting with autoclave maintenance and documentation)
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills:

The required skills of dental hygiene and manual dexterity are essential for performing precise dental cleanings and assisting in procedures. Hand-eye coordination is critical when using dental instruments and ensuring patient comfort during treatments. Clinical proficiency in offering periodontal therapy to patients with various degrees of periodontal disease. Computer literacy to learn our EMR (eClinicalWorks) and navigate it with ease.
