Salary:

We are seeking a Default Operations Manager to oversee our Reinstatement & Payoff team, a high-impact team responsible for generating reinstatement letters, payoff letters, FDCPA letters, and other essential communications in support of foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings. This is a key leadership role in our growing firm, offering the opportunity to work directly with attorneys, clients, and firm leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment.


What Youll Do

  • Manage and lead a team that prepares legal correspondence including reinstatement, payoff, demand, and FDCPA letters.
  • Ensure all communications meet legal, client, and investor requirements.
  • Monitor team queues, shared inboxes, and client systems (e.g., ICE, Tempo) to maintain timeliness and accuracy.
  • Conduct quality control reviews and ensure compliance with FDCPA, RESPA, and state foreclosure regulations.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate team members to meet KPIs and performance goals.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow enhancements.
  • Act as the point of escalation for complex or sensitive matters.
  • Maintain and update team procedures and training documentation.
  • Participate in client audits, compliance reviews, and operational leadership meetings.


What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or default servicing within a law firm or mortgage servicing environment.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role with direct people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, and foreclosure-related compliance requirements.
  • Experience with default servicing platforms such as Tempo, LoanSphere, or Perfect Practice.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred: Paralegal certificate or a college degree.


Physical Requirements

This role requires extended periods of computer use and the ability to work at a desk. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), filing, and verbal communication with staff and clients are also expected.
