The American School for the Deaf (ASD) is the oldest school for the deaf, founded in 1817 by Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet and Laurent Clerc. Position: Data and Special Projects Coordinator Department: Education Supervisor: Assistant Executive Director Description: Full time – 12 Months Benefits Eligible Union Status: Non-Collective Bargaining (non-union)
SCOPE OF DUTIES Under the supervision of the Assistant Executive Director, and/or their designee, the Data and Special Projects Coordinator will oversee the behavioral documentation software, produce and analyze behavioral data for ASD students and facilitate the communication of outcomes to ASD staff, parents, guardians and other agencies, as appropriate. Additionally, the position will also support the ASD Birth-to-Three program including the implementation and ongoing support of the new electronic records system.
PRIMARY DUTIES Under the supervision of the Assistant Executive Director or their designee, the Data and Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for the following duties: Oversee electronic DCF mandated case files, via the electronic health record (EHR) system. Oversee and assist with entering behavioral data into the School-Wide Information System (SWIS) for all programs, monitor the timeliness of data entry, and produce reports, when necessary or requested. Provide support with behavioral data analysis campus wide. Develop, coordinate, and provide assistance to clinical, school and residential staff campus wide with the provision of the data systems. Provide regular staff training and support regarding the documentation procedures and systems (EHR, SWIS), and other behavioral and/or data-based systems. Assist with the roll-out of the new electronic system (Central Reach) for the ASD Birth-to-Three program and provide ongoing support. Provide overall support of the ASD Birth-to-Three program as requested by the director. Assist with special projects, as requested. Comply with all internal and external confidentiality policies and regulations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. American Sign Language proficiency preferred; willingness to learn required. Requires creative problem-solving skills, familiarity with electronic systems and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Must be comfortable communicating with and providing trainings to various groups. Applicants should be willing to work flexible hours, when needed.
