GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year. AdventHealth Tampa is home to the renowned AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute, a recognized leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and leading-edge research caring for Tampa Bays hearts for over 35 years. The Kiran C. Patel Research Institute, also located at AdventHealth Tampa, leads the way in clinical and academic research in the areas of neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, advanced surgery and more contributing valuable knowledge that leads to tomorrows cures for conditions such as heart failure, cancer and other diseases. The role youll contribute: Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Residents are spiritual care ministers and members of the healthcare team. The CPE Resident is committed to the mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ. The CPE Resident is enrolled in an educational program, learning through practice and reflection the art and discipline of spiritual care for patients, families, and employees. As the CPE Resident learns, he/she becomes more skilled in the provision of care to those persons from many backgrounds, belief systems and ages from birth to geriatrics. The CPE Resident reflects a diversity of spiritual and professional gifts. Each CPE Resident may be involved in providing care in a variety of areas of the hospital, and perhaps on a variety of campuses in the region, and/or may be more involved in a certain area or with a certain age group or demographic. Regardless of where they are serving, the CPE Resident will be expected to learn effective ways of caring for persons with a variety of spiritual needs, religious values, beliefs and practices of all faiths; responding in a way that communicates compassion, empathy, respect and dignity with care. CPE Residents actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility to maintain relationships that are equally respecting of all. Maintains communication, collaboration, and accountability with leaders in the Department of Spiritual Care.
