Overview
As the dedicated analytics consultant for one of GB’s largest carrier clients, you will execute quantitative analysis to drive actionable insights. Your insights should identify performance gaps and hypotheses for root cause, leading to specific action plans to capitalize on opportunities. You will work very closely with the Client, Client Services, Claims Operations, as well as the broader analytics team and our internal executive team. Daily, often urgent analytical work will be required, as will be the delivery of high quality, error-free analysis. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate scorecards and reports to track this client’s claims and operational performance, including packaging of insights for frequent executive report out. The ideal candidate will be able to juggle numerous inflight asks with a short timeline and communicate expectations effectively with internal and external stakeholders across the organization. Highly advanced skills in SQL and Excel are essential for analyzing and transforming complex data into meaningful insights, presenting the findings clearly, and identifying strategic next steps to effectively influence outcomes. In addition, you will be required to streamline processes and automate reporting where applicable. How you'll make an impact Generating analysis, dashboards and reports related to client’s claims outcomes to provide recommendations for senior and executive audiences Identifying and assessing opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and outcomes across GB’s operations as they pertain to this client Packaging insights from analyses into highly polished presentations for stakeholders and/or executive team Evaluating financial impact of rolling out new pilots and initiatives Leading high visibility operations initiatives and collaborating across functional areas Conducting primary and/or secondary research to identify required data to solve a given business question Overseeing build-out of tools/technology as needed to ensure claims ops and client services have ability to comprehensively track outcomes Intermediate knowledge of fundamental claim concepts, practices, and procedures within GB’s operations Providing guidance and input to more junior employees in their analysis Able to work independently with minimal guidance as needed Tasked with solving problems of moderate to high complexity Significant client interaction and engagement About You Ability to think critically and break down complex business problems Clear and effective communication Strong academic credentials Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint Computer programming languages (, R, Python, SAS) Data visualization skills (, Power BI, Tableau) Master’s/MBA degree (not required) Client Interaction experience Required: Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 4 years professional experience with quantitative analysis Ability to use highly advanced skills in SQL and Excel to analyze and convert complex data into meaningful insights Less than 20% travel Work Traits: Critical Thinking, Complex Problem Solving, Deductive Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Excellent Judgment & Decision Making skills, and Excellent Communication Skills Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, information systems, finance, data science, analytics, engineering, or economics A background in insurance, risk management, consulting or financial services 5+ years of relevant professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data science, or related field Excellent problem solving skills as well as critical thinking and conceptual thinking abilities Expert in Microsoft products – Excel, Power Point Proficiency in SQL (R, Python, SAS - a plus) with the ability to analyze and convert complex data into meaningful insights Preferred: Demonstrated abilities to lead and develop analysts Experience gathering and aligning business requirements across stakeholders Work Traits: Ability to work on diverse teams with varying skill sets and levels Critical Thinking, Leadership, Comfortable presenting in front of clients and senior management, Complex Problem Solving, Deductive Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Excellent Judgment & Decision Making skills, and Excellent Communication Skills A strong desire for continual learning.
