Part-Time Benefitted; 34-Hours Weekly
This recruitment will be filling one (1) vacancy in the Recreation Division.

THE POSITION
The Community Services Assistant Coordinator in our recreation division plays a crucial role in supervising, organizing, and conducting recreational activities for various age groups at parks, community centers, or playgrounds. This part-time role involves planning and executing diverse programs such as sports, arts and crafts, dance, outdoor education, and special events. The position requires the ability to work independently and use sound judgment to address program or customer service concerns while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the Community Services Assistant Coordinator position is a highly organized and enthusiastic individual with a background in seasonal camps, teen programming, special events, special needs and tiny tot programming. Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for teenagers, as well as strong conflict resolution and behavioral management skills, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience planning programs, managing logistics, and adapting to various environments. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly desirable for effectively communicating with diverse community members. This role is perfect for someone dedicated to enhancing community well-being and making a positive impact through recreational programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school, or G.E.D. equivalent; and at least one year of paid or volunteer experience as a Recreation Aide or in a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Completion of course work in physical education or recreation is highly desirable.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is desirable.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Community Services Assistant Coordinators provide responsible supervision of recreation program activities including planning and conducting activities in assigned program areas such as sports, arts and crafts, dance, outdoor education, special and seasonal events or other related activities. These activities provide an enriching environment offering recreational, educational and social opportunities for the community. Work involves organizing and directing recreation programs within established schedules, standards and policies, as well as using independent judgment in dealing with program or customer service questions or problems.
ABOUT THE PARKS & COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
To serve the residents of Moreno Valley as a progressive, responsive public library resource; providing users of all ages with their material needs in a variety of electronic and traditional formats; serving as an information center providing materials related to the issues and interests of day-to-day living; providing educational and informational support to students; and providing informational, cultural and technical literacy in a welcoming public setting.
