We are seeking an experienced Class A Driver for afull-time position in Fortuna, CA!!
In this role you will pick up and deliver hazardous and/or non-hazardous waste and/or material or other products at various customer locations. May drive to different customer job sites to pick up waste oil, antifreeze, and oily water and deliver to the Transfer Disposal Storage Facility (TDSF). Position may also include pickup and delivery of full or empty drums or other packages of hazardous and non-hazardous waste or material. This may include operation of a cargo tank, doubles, or dry van. Additionally, travel may not be limited to within California. Receives incoming drums or bulk loads containing waste oil, waste antifreeze and/or oily water. Samples drum & bulk containers and submit samples to lab for analysis. Analyze samples in accordance with the facilitys waste analysis plan. Loads and unloads tank trucks and tank containers according to the type and volume of wastes. Inspects and maintains the transfer facility in compliance with regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely operates commercial motor vehicle and associated equipment.
Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Complies with all required statutory, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Completes appropriate paperwork and forms, including but not limited to manifest, shipping and receiving
Secures load during transit, including blocking and bracing.
Loads and unloads truck, which may include hazardous waste and/or materials.
Communicates with customers, supervisors, and other employees effectively.
Uses good judgment in making decisions, in emergency and routine situations.
Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor.
Other duties may be assigned.
Familiar with the Facilitys Permit and Operations Plan and be knowledgeable in the types of waste the facility may receive and where they are stored.
Reviews shipping documents prior to receiving wastes.
Samples all incoming waste shipments.
Performs the required analysis in accordance with the facilitys waste analysis plan and records the results.
Performs daily and weekly inspections, including tank/wastes inventory.
Responsible to forward and receive Shipping & Receiving data/logs and manifests to and from the Compliance Assistant in a timely manner.
Maintains copies of the shipping and receiving logs on site.
Responsible to maintain supplies such as test equipment/kits, sample containers, labels to perform waste analysis, spill kit supplies, PPEs, eye wash solution.
Keeps work areas clean.
Cleans spills/leaks and places residues in appropriate receptacle.
Responsible to secure/lock the facility prior to leaving.
Performs other duties as assigned by Terminal Manager.
Reports all TSDF operations problems immediately to the Terminal Manager.
Must be knowledgeable in and is responsible for implementing the following procedures when necessary:
Emergency Contingency Plan
Spill Containment and Countermeasure Plan
Accident Investigation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Class A or B CDL with Haz Mat & Tanker endorsements, TSA Clearance for carrying hazardous materials
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. The employee is regularly required to climb inside/outside vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to diesel engine fumes or airborne particles. Must be able to wear protective clothing and may be required to wear an air-supplied respirator. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
