Department/Unit: Float Pool Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $68,640.00 - $70,699.20 Join our dedicated team as a Clinical Nurse where you will play a crucial role in assessing, coordinating, and managing the needs of patients throughout their episode of care in our ED Observation unit. You will focus on ensuring quality patient care, progress toward discharge, and seamless transitions within the acute care settings. Key Responsibilities: Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document care in accordance with policies and regulations. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions comprehensively. Continuously assess and evaluate patients' needs and responses to the care provided. Utilize sound nursing judgment in all patient care management decisions. Provide primary and emergency care for all types of injuries and illnesses. Administer medications, both over-the-counter and prescription, as ordered. Collaborate with the nursing team to establish effective Plans of Care for patients. Guide and direct ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree). Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is necessary. Previous experience as a PCA or in a nursing assistance role is preferred. Willingness to improve job performance through ongoing education. Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving techniques to support patient care improvement initiatives.
