FLITE Center Overview: FLITE Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth transitioning out of foster care and other vulnerable populations by providing comprehensive support services, resources, and guidance.
About the Role: The FLITE Center is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our non-profit organization. As the CEO you will provide strategic leadership and visionary direction to advance the mission, sustainability, and impact of FLITE Center. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the organization’s overall management, fundraising, program expansion, and advocacy efforts. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven ability to foster relationships, drive financial growth, and enhance visibility to youth opportunities.
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Growth Lead the organization in executing its mission and long-term strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors. Oversee the development and implementation of policies and programs that support organizational goals and impact the organization's long-term success. Ensure operational excellence and financial sustainability through effective management and governance. Prepare monthly financial and operational reports for the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders on FLITE Center's operational performance and outcomes. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures. Financial Management & Sustainability Oversee the organizations financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and capital allocation. Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and development strategies to ensure long-term financial health. Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, nonprofit partners, foundations, and individual donors. Identify and expand revenue streams, including grants, sponsorships, and philanthropic giving. Partnerships & Advocacy Build and maintain effective partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and funders. Strengthen relationships with state-level affiliates and nonprofit partners to expand resources and impact. Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization, enhancing statewide visibility and influence. Lead strategic communications and public engagement efforts to elevate awareness and support for the mission. Team Leadership & Organizational Culture Build and manage a high-performing executive team, adopting a positive collaborative work environment. Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusivity. Oversee human resources to align strategic priorities in the areas of people, culture and business operations. Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Commitment to advancing equity in opportunities and outcomes for youth. Recognize and address systemic barriers related to race, ethnicity, language, and socio-economic status. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, non-profit management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years of executive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. Proven track record of success in executive-level roles as CEO or in similar leadership position. Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting for strategic growth, fundraising success, and organizational impact. Highly proficient financial management, business ethics, and grant oversight experience. Exceptional communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with the Board and stakeholders. Strategic acumen to analyze complex situations, identify key issues and develop effective solutions. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in non-profit management. Background in social work, youth development, or related fields preferred. Experience assisting victims of human trafficking or addressing housing insecurity is strongly preferred. Licenses and other requirements: Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Excellent interpersonal skills. Recognizing, respecting and responding to the unique, culturally defined needs of others served. Experience working with teens and young adults is a must.
