CNA I: Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents in accordance with the patient's and/or resident's assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed.
CNA II: Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed. Incumbents have the ability to train CNA I positions as well as perform the full scope of duties for a CNA I or II at BRH. Journey skills include, but are not limited to: completing non-invasive collection and testing of physical specimens (gastroccult, hemoccult, urine dip sticks), glucose testing and reporting, suctioning the oral pharynx, removal of internal or external urinary catheters, peri-care, bladder scans, electrode placements for electrocardiograms, cardiac monitoring, telemetry, Incentive Spirometer use, etc.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job: CNA I: License(s): Current State of Alaska Certified Nurse Assistant License.
Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS)
Alaska Food Workers Card (Wildflower Court only)
Workplace Violence Prevention training within 90 days of hire.
Experience: No prior experience required. CNA I's are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA II level within 6 months.
Other: Must be 18 years of age to work in Wildflower Court, must be 16 years of age to work in Bartlett Hospital.
CNA II: License(s): Current State of Alaska Certified Nurse Assistant License.
Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS)
Alaska Food Workers Card (Wildflower Court only)
Workplace Violence Prevention training within 90 days of hire.
Experience: Master entry level CNA I skills and duties and complete initial advanced skills training checklist within 6 months of hire. CNA II must maintain quarterly skills training checklists and competencies.
Other: Must be 18 years of age to work in Wildflower Court, must be 16 years of age to work in Bartlett Hospital.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.
CNA I: Starts at $22.40 per hour.
CNA II: Starts at $26.28 per hour.
Practice Notices: All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to start of employment.
