Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant for the clinics is responsible for patient care, assisting the physician, upkeep of the exam rooms, autoclaving, patient charts, assisting in the lab and with x-ray, and providing other services of a clerical or technical nature to ensure quality patient care. This position also includes surgery scheduling, surgical authorizations.

Duties include:

  • Prepares patients for physical examinations to include checking and recording vital signs, weight, medications taking and chief complaint.
  • Understands and utilizes universal precautions and follows Infection Control procedures.
  • Assists the physician in exams, procedures, minor surgeries, and giving injections.
  • Surgery scheduling and authorizations.
  • Surgical coordination with Operating room, equipment reps and therapy and patients.

Employee must hold a valid Certified Medical Assistant certification by an approved credentialing board (NHA, AMT, NCCT, etc.).
