Description: The Catering Coordinator is responsible for driving catering sales, coordinating event execution, and ensuring an exceptional experience for every catering Guest. This role oversees all aspects of the catering process—from sales and BEO (Banquet Event Order) generation to production logistics and follow-up—while partnering with the Prepared Foods Department to maintain operational excellence. The Catering Coordinator leads with hospitality, attention to detail, and a focus on growing the catering business within the store and local market. What you will bring: A minimum of 2 years of experience in catering coordination, event planning, or food service management. Proven ability to manage catering logistics, sales, and event execution. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of the Ann Arbor market and established catering relationships is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create and manage BEOs and follow-up documentation per SOP. Comfort with technology, including use of tablets, presentation tools, and Microsoft Office. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break. Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted. An associate degree in catering, culinary, or hospitality preferred. What you will do: Serve as the primary point of contact for all catering Guests, from inquiry to follow-up. Secure and manage catering orders, generating accurate BEOs with pricing, descriptions, and staffing requirements. Coordinate logistics with the Prepared Foods Department to ensure timely production and delivery. Train, mentor, and coach team members to support catering operations. Maintain a folder for each catering event with BEOs, performance notes, quantity adjustments, and improvement areas. Attend face-to-face meetings with potential clients, using iPad and tools for effective presentations. Track and process catering invoices for timely submission to accounting. Follow up with Guests after events to gather feedback and build loyalty. Acquire new catering clients and develop relationships to grow departmental revenue. Ensure BEOs are posted according to SOP and visible to the appropriate teams. Model and maintain exceptional Guest Service throughout the entire process. Maintain deep knowledge of Plum Market’s products, catering capabilities, and policies.
