Function of Position
This position requires a friendly, pleasant personality, diplomacy and tact, the ability to maintain confidentiality, to work independently, prioritize, organize, and the capacity to complete tasks with limited oversight and independent judgment. Computer skills, typing proficiency, attention to detail, ten-key calculator operation, ability to handle and count cash accurately, proper telephone skills, and courteous handling of the public are essential. The ability to schedule and supervise student workers is necessary
Supervision Given/Received
Work is performed under the general supervision of the VP for Business Affairs/CFO. Supervision is exercised over the Mail Room Graduate Assistant and student workers.

- Maintains the petty cash fund
- Receives cash, issues cash receipts and accounts for both
- Prepares daily bank deposits
- Maintains office supplies and forms
- Runs reports from student payment portal and records data
- Prepares journal entries
- Maintains computer and manual file systems
- Maintains subsidiary ledger for enrollment deposits
- Receives and records mortgage, interest, and dividend payments
- Provides statements to students upon request
- Provides assistance to students/parents in regards to their account
- Normal working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be occasionally necessary.
- Assists Student Accounts and Business Office when needed.
- Performs related work as required

Supervision:
- Supervise and schedule the mail room graduate assistant
- Supervise and schedule the work study students for the mail room
Mail:
- Communicate with the USPS, UPS, and FEDEX about pickup and delivery
- Sort On Campus Mail/Off Campus mail to appropriate mailboxes
- Sort Packages Upon arrival and notify students/staff/faculty.
- Manage Business Reply Mail, Postage Due, and Business Deposit Accounts
- Manage Postage Meter
- Maintenance and supplies
- Postage deposits to the postage meter
- Run monthly report for postage for controller & cashier
Central Store:
- Maintain a supply of paper and envelopes
- Charge out office supplies to departments
Answer main university phone line.
Other duties as assigned.
