This role supports commercial construction and property maintenance across Uniland’s portfolio, requiring expertise in both rough and finish carpentry. The Carpenter ensures high-quality craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail, while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Constructs and installs metal framing, drywall, and acoustic ceilings in accordance with project specifications, ensuring structural integrity and precise alignment for a seamless installation. Fits and installs millwork, trim, and molding with precision, delivering clean, sharp, and accurate angles for a refined, professional finish. Mounts doors, frames, and related hardware, ensuring proper functionality, alignment, and secure installation in accordance with project requirements. Performs drywall repairs, patching surfaces, and completing painting tasks to ensure high-quality finishes and maintain the aesthetic of building interiors. Performs demolition work and removes cutoffs, scrap materials, and debris from job sites, ensuring all waste is disposed of properly in designated bins or recycling containers. Identifies and addresses unsafe conditions on job sites, taking prompt corrective action to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with all safety protocols. Reviews plans, blueprints, and project specifications to verify accurate for proper millwork placement and locations of millwork, molding, trim, and accessories in accordance with the finish schedule. Lays out millwork plans using lasers, levels, and measuring equipment, ensuring accurate alignment, uniformity, and adherence to architectural plans and finish schedules. Conducts detailed inspections of in-progress and completed work to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety and building standards. Adheres to all safety procedures including the proper use of ladders, scaffolds, PPE, and compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. Coordinates with team members and supervisors to plan work sequences, adjust for schedule changes, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Safely operates a variety of hand and power tools , including trowels, sanders, lifts, and other finishing equipment. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of two years of experience in commercial carpentry, with demonstrated capability in both rough and finish carpentry. OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification required (or must be obtained upon hire). Proven experience in framing, installation of trim, doors, windows, millwork and other carpentry tasks. Experience working on commercial construction sites is preferred. Experience in working with various hand tools, power tools and finishing equipment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong understanding of carpentry tools, materials, and construction techniques, including both rough and finish carpentry. Knowledge of safety practices, building codes, and construction regulations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Familiarity with job site safety standards, including the proper use of ladders, scaffolding, and PPE. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications. Skilled in measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling wood and other materials with a high degree of precision. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship, particularly in finish carpentry work such as installing millwork, trim, and moldings. Must have the ability to transport personal hand and power tools to and from job sites using a reliable personal vehicle. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires visual acuity to assess the quality of craftsmanship and ensure precise installations. Exposure to dust, noise, and vibrations associated with carpentry work. Primarily works indoors on active commercial construction or renovation sites, including offices, retail spaces, and occupied facilities. Exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and ventilation depending on the job site and time of year. May work in tight or elevated spaces requiring attention to balance and safe movement.
