A hospital is seeking a cardiothoracic surgeon for locum tenens coverage.

Southwestern Kentucky has fun activities for you to enjoy while on assignment! Go to the water lands for boating, fishing, and swimming, or visit Lost River Cave or Mammoth Cave National Park! This Cardiothoracic Surgery opportunity is for 24-hour call coverage from October 613, 2025, with the potential for additional dates in the future due to a current vacancy. The schedule is 7 AM to 7 AM, and the locum provider will be supported by an on-site NP. The hospital has 373 beds, uses EPIC for charting, and is not a designated trauma center. Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience and hold current BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications. Providers with experience in both heart and lung surgery are preferred, with vascular experience being a plus. Expected case types include vascular or backup cases and aortic procedures, with a hospital patient volume of 1225 per day. A Kentucky or compact license is required, and credentialing takes approximately 120 days.
