POSITION: Calibration Technician
LOCATION: Jupiter, FL.
STATUS: Hourly Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and calibration of measuring equipment such as small hand tools, airflow benches, fixtures and gaging. Responsible to ensure all measuring tools are calibrated per the internal procedures, ISO17025 standards, ensuring there is no equipment on the shop floor with an expired calibration or verification date. The position will be responsible for maintaining and verification of mechanical functional fixtures and gages used for verification of mechanical components and maintaining the details of suck calibrations within an industry recognized calibration software. Processing documentation and navigating the internal PSM systems is key to supporting efficiency and effectiveness of our Quality System.
This position reports directly to the Workshop Quality Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential function of the job includes the following:
Perform calibration exercises to verify the accuracy of measuring tools and equipment
Manually adjust tools as necessary to calibrate based on ISO17025 requirements
Document rejections on internal nonconformance database
Maintain traceability of all calibrated equipment
Meticulously maintain records of calibration within an industry recognized calibration software
Ability to work independently in a face-paced, multi-faceted environment
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
High School diploma, or GED equivalent required
Associate degree or higher-level education preferred
Relevant ASQ training/certification (CQA, CQIA, etc.) preferred
Skills/Experience
Minimum of 1- 2 years of experience in the calibration / verification industry with specific skills related to quality systems and regulatory requirements
Prior experience working under formal environments such as ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP is required
Must be a detailed oriented, high energy, self-starter with time management skills
Experience with mechanical measuring tools, systems, gaging and solid GD&T skills
Good planning, organization skills and ability to multi-task when necessary
Strong quality and customer focus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Gagetrak, Indysoft etc… calibration software
Fluency in English, spoken & written
Experience within Gas Turbine, Power Generation, or Aero industry preferred
