We are currently seeking to fill TWO (2) Business Support positions to join our Child Welfare team to work in our Portland office on NE Glisan Street.
Summary of Duties
As a Business Support (Office Specialist 2), you will:
- Provide administrative support to caseworkers and supervisors.
- Answer calls, address inquiries, coordinate schedules, and direct individuals to services and resources.
- Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and policies regarding payments, documents, and information.
- Handle administrative tasks including data entry, case management tasks, and record-keeping.
- Participate in on-call support for temporary lodging.
- Order supplies and manage inventory.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
- An associate degree in any field; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Attributes

- Proven experience performing detail-oriented work with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experienced and skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting competing deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience being self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage time efficiently, take initiative, and proactively assist others.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt communication styles to effectively engage diverse audiences, clearly explain complex rules, regulations, and procedures, and demonstrate active listening.
Working Conditions
- Work Locations: Offices and community sites.
- Travel: Occasional travel for meetings, trainings, and other case related activities.
- Hours: Regular work week with fluctuating hours; occasional overtime may be needed, including evenings and weekends.
- Physical Requirements: Occasional physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- This role involves handling sensitive topics related to trauma, abuse, and crises, requiring a trauma-informed approach that is essential to ensure a safe environment.
- You may interact with individuals who have experienced trauma and may have difficulty managing their emotions.
- Be prepared for stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety for yourself and others.

Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check.

General Information
This is a permanent, full-time position and is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
The salary range listed is the non-PERS monthly salary range. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.
This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification.
