Description: Purpose and Scope In accordance with Vogel Bros. Building Co.’s beliefs / values / mission / vision, the Business Development Manager is responsible for leading efforts to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities. This role is responsible for building client relationships, developing strategic market plans, and collaborating across teams to drive growth in alignment with company goals.

Strategy & Planning Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals. Create and maintain an annual business development plan for key market sectors. Participate in strategic business planning and pursuit positioning strategies. Analyze market trends and client/competitor data to guide planning and decision-making. Client & Market Development Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients, partners, and community influencers. Represent the firm at industry, client, and community events (including some outside regular hours). Actively participate in relevant client, industry, and community organizations. Pursuit Management Research and gather information on potential clients and projects. Schedule and conduct meetings with new and existing clients to uncover project opportunities. Lead pursuit planning and capture strategy development. Collaborate with marketing on proposals, presentations, and messaging. Ensure high-quality execution of all business development processes and client interactions. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with project teams to ensure alignment with client expectations. Provide clear communication on client goals and project objectives. Prepare thoroughly for client meetings, setting clear objectives and addressing client needs and challenges. Respond promptly and effectively to client requests, objections, and critical issues. Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate tracking of business development activities using CRM tools. Regularly update leadership on progress, market insights, and opportunities. Knowledge of the A/E/C industry (Architecture, Engineering, Construction). High level of curiosity and willingness to understand Vogel Bros. market sectors and differentiators. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. Availability to attend events outside of regular business hours as needed.
