About the Role Are you a Scientific Director who enjoys connecting great science with real-world impact? This could be your next step. We're looking for a scientifically minded Business Development Director to join our U.S. Biologics Business Development team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Biologics Discovery with an in-depth understanding of Biologics processes from discovery to IND, who is looking to move into a more commercial, client-facing role. You will use your existing network and proactive outreach to identify new business opportunities and position Pharmaron as the CDMO of choice for prospective clients. You'll cultivate and sustain strong, profitable partnerships, collaborate closely with scientific teams to shape bespoke proposals, and help translate complex scientific requirements into actionable, client-focused solutions. Your scientific insight will be vital in setting realistic expectations, building trust, and turning conversations into long-term collaborations that drive innovation in the Biologics space. It's a remote role with regular travel across the region and perfect for someone who wants to stay close to the science while stepping into a more commercial, outward-facing position. Key Responsibilities Achieve agreed-upon sales and profit targets, driving business growth and profitability. Cultivate, manage, and maintain professional relationships with clients, with particular emphasis on their senior management teams. Stay informed about Pharmaron's capabilities and services to engage in informed discussions with clients and prospective clients about our offerings. Work closely with Pharmaron scientists to ensure that client expectations are realistic and achievable, thus ensuring customer satisfaction. Identify cross-selling opportunities in collaboration with other Business Development team members, capturing new areas for business growth. Contribute to the development of a compelling Value Proposition, making Pharmaron an attractive choice for clients. Represent the company professionally, promoting Pharmaron as a reliable partner capable of delivering high-quality solutions, converting inquiries into profitable contracts. Collaborate with Pharmaron scientists to formulate business proposals and presentations, ensuring that these proposals can be converted into profitable commercial contracts. Identify and utilize sources of information that provide insightful market intelligence within the pharmaceutical industry, sharing this information internally to support strategic decision making. Candidate Profile A degree in Lifesciences from a reputable university (PhD strongly preferred). Biotech/pharma experience in a scientific lab environment within Biologics Discovery, with a good understanding of Biologics processes from discovery to IND is required. Experience with in vitro or in vivo antibody discovery platforms & engineering approaches.is desirable. Drug discovery experience with broad understanding of in vitro biology and in vivo pharmacology along with experience in a breadth of modalities like ADC/oligo conjugates /cell therapy is ideal. An understanding of the CDMO and Biologics market and environment Multi-year experience in a business development role within the Biologics sector is essential Strong presentation skills understanding message communication for specific audiences Financial, costing and numerical skills Ability to influence and negotiate successfully Customer focused with the ability to build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team and under pressure Result oriented and highly self-motivated showing resilience and resourcefulness Flexible and adaptable mindset, with the ability to respond to change quickly and effectively Why Pharmaron?
