Description: Maintenance Assistant Job Description: The position is responsible for keeping our facilities clean and well-maintained. In this role, you perform painting, light plumbing, landscaping, carpentry, and preventive maintenance and repair duties. Reporting to the Vice President Engineering/Facilities. Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities: Inspect buildings, sites and equipment for needed repair / maintenance. Respond to emergency maintenance requests. Fix minor issues related to electricity, plumbing, and other systems. Keep equipment in working order and report any repair needs beyond your scope. Troubleshoot issues to determine cause and solution. Assist with construction projects. Operate forklift. Maintain records and prepare reports. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Requirements: Maintenance Assistant Qualifications: High school diploma or GED certificate. Skills in or knowledge of carpentry, plumbing (preferred). Attention to detail. Physical stamina to work on your feet, climb on ladders, and lift/move equipment. Valid driver's license. Forklift certified (preferred). Must possess current CPR/First Aid or willing to get certified within first six months Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
