JOB SUMMARY

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring a Revenue Cycle Reimbursement Specialist in the Department of Surgery.

• Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

• Location: Remote (must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reconcile surgical procedures

• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes to surgery charges

• Resolve denied charges

• Verify appropriate attestations

• Forecast and reconcile data

• Maintain attention to detail and organization

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience: 4 years of progressively responsible experience in medical insurance, billing, or reimbursement

Preferred:

• Certifications (any of the following):

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

  • Advanced Records Technician (ART)

  • Registered Records Administrator (RRA)

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

JOB DUTIES

• Perform policy analysis for managed care issues by reviewing contracts, writing clause revisions, and recommending reimbursement policy changes

• Analyze fee schedules, encounter forms, diagnoses, and procedure codes to ensure contracts reflect appropriate business decisions

• Ensure timely completion of reimbursement-related projects and implementation of changes

• Conduct meetings, organize activities, and create reimbursement policies and procedures

• Document findings through inquiry letters, opinion letters, and maintain contract and research files

• Perform other duties as assigned
