Job Title: Paralegal Litigation Support

Description

We are seeking a highly organized and self-sufficient Paralegal to join our litigation team. Under the direction of a team litigation attorney, each Paralegal will be responsible for managing the docket of three District Courts, overseeing approximately 1,000 pending tax cases independently. This role requires strong legal administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the prosecution of approximately 1,000 tax cases across three assigned District Courts
• Monitor service status and ensure proper service on all defendants to obtain valid and enforceable judgments
• Prepare pleadings necessary to secure final judgments
• Communicate with taxpayers and defendants to prosecute cases and collect delinquent taxes and fees
• Obtain trial settings in accordance with court procedures
• Draft final judgments for court submission
• Maintain close communication with court clerks to facilitate case resolution
• Attend virtual and in-person hearings as requested by the litigation attorney
• Perform other duties as assigned by the litigation attorney
• Assist with training new litigation staff to ensure consistency with department practices
• Collaborate with other paralegals to support departmental goals

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• College degree preferred
