Full Time Salaried Position starting at $55,000.00/year DOE plus benefits. Essential Duties and Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks: Be the primary point of contact for guests requiring av, working with guests and other property employees to ensure guests’ av needs are met. Design av systems that both adequately meet the needs of the guest, as well as maximize the av department’s profitability. Design, setup, service, and teardown av systems for any event on property without assistance (excluding physical tasks that require more than 1 person). Communicate promptly and in a way that is professional and hospitable. Create av estimates and invoices that are accurate and professional. Know and practice AV fundamental concepts including Signal Flow, Gain Staging, Audio Leveling, Basic Audio Mixing, Basic Acoustics, Feedback Elimination, Over-Under Cable Wrapping, and Projector Throw/Brightness calculation. Transport, store, operate, and overall maintain AV equipment in a way that prevents damage/unnecessary wear. Make basic repairs/preventative maintenance to AV equipment as needed. Use proper gaff tape and gaff tape technique on all av cables. Ensure that all av is deployed in a way that is safe to both guests and staff, and that all av systems are visually tidy with minimal exposed cabling. Ensure that all AV technicians are properly setting up, servicing, and tearing down events. Logically and effectively troubleshoot AV equipment and systems. Learn and maintain a firm knowledge of the property; including physical layout, existing systems (power, built-in sound and/or video systems, internet ports, etc.), event space capacity, optimal event setups, and other relevant information. Learn and maintain a firm knowledge of all events happening on property at any given time, including those with av needs and those without av needs. Learn and maintain a firm knowledge of event space availability at any given time. Plan the setup, support, and teardown of all events on property in an organized way that does not conflict with other events or Hotel operations. Effectively schedule, communicate with, and lead, the av team in a way that provides exceptional service to all events on property and reduces unnecessary costs. Learn and maintain a firm knowledge of av inventories. This includes how to operate all equipment in the inventory, keeping an accurate record of av inventory, and properly labeling all equipment. Track the financial information relevant to the department and ensure that all deployed av is properly paid for. Communicate and collaborate with the Corporate AV Director. Follow all guidelines and instructions of the HH&R employee handbook, property management, and Corporate AV Department. Requirements Minimum of 2 year or equivalent combination of education and experience; in hospitality experience preferred. Convention Service experience a plus. College degree in Audio Visual equivalent business experience helpful. Highschool diploma or equivalent. Good time management skills. High level attention to detail required. Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to multitask. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and late nights.
