Associate Director for Education and Training Rutgers Cancer Institute is seeking a faculty member at the Associate Professor to Professor level to serve as the Associate Director for Education and Training. This role aims to advance our mission of excellence in cancer research education. The Associate Director will lead the development, coordination, and evaluation of research education and training activities within Rutgers Cancer Institute and collaborative efforts across institutions. The position involves participation in leadership councils and advisory boards, representing Rutgers Cancer Institute. Additional responsibilities include: Overseeing research career enhancement activities and developing new educational initiatives. Providing a portfolio of lectures and research training programs, and overseeing seminar series including the Annual Retreat for Cancer Research in New Jersey and the Joint Research Symposium with Princeton University. Leading efforts to develop research training grant applications. Partnering with undergraduate and graduate programs to integrate Rutgers Cancer Institute areas into curricula and developing new graduate programs. Developing targeted courses for training investigators across basic, population, and clinical research. Collaborating with Rutgers assets to develop conferences, courses, and boot camps. Leading Rutgers Youth Enjoy Science (RUYES) and Oncology Physician Initiative to Maximize Diversity (OPTIM) Programs. Approving and signing letters for research trainee appointments. Providing leadership in educational policies and strategic planning aligned with Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). Representing Rutgers Cancer Institute at RBHS meetings and interfacing with Rutgers offices on education and training. Reviewing and signing off on contracts with educational programs. Overseeing CCSG activities related to grant applications and identifying unmet needs. Qualifications include a doctoral degree, outstanding academic credentials preferably with an oncology focus, and experience with research training grants (e.g., T32, R25). CCSG experience is preferred.
