About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Dean for Research and Innovation to join its dynamic and rapidly growing academic community. The successful candidate will be a tenured professor with a strong research and scholarly profile, capable of providing strategic leadership to develop and foster programs of research and innovation. This role is pivotal in promoting a research environment that encourages innovation, inclusive dialogue, and respect among all stakeholders. The Associate Dean will be responsible for advancing the College's diverse research portfolio, developing supportive programs and infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with research and licensing regulations. A major focus will be on raising the College's indirect cost recovery and fostering partnerships with government, industry, and philanthropic organizations to enhance research opportunities.
Applicants for the Associate Dean position at the company should have a terminal degree in a relevant field, a proven track record of securing and managing large external grants, and experience in administrative and fiscal management. The role requires the ability to mentor faculty in research and grantsmanship, as well as to work with the Technology Licensing Office to support the progression of research to potential start-ups. The ideal candidate will have a history of fostering innovative and societally impactful scholarship, and be adept at identifying and promoting funding opportunities. They will also be expected to engage with the College's research centers, promote student involvement in research, and coordinate the College's retention, promotion, and tenure process. The position demands a leader who can work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students, and who is committed to the strategic direction and aspirations of the College.
