Associate I Summary: The Associate I role is responsible for learning and applying his/her technical skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision. Essential Functions: Serve as a support staff on audit engagements including but not limited to the following: Carry out audit procedures for assigned audit areas based on audit program steps. Interact with audit client to gather information. Review client information and apply audit procedures. Prepare audit work papers and analyze client information, Follow up with client as necessary for additional information. Assist in preparing proposed adjusting journal entries. Assist in preparing GAAP based financial statements. Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Accounting (Master of Accounting preferred) 0 to 2 years of public accounting experience CPA eligible Knowledge of GAAP regulations and principles Developing technical knowledge. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach. Strong communication skills. Ability to synthesize and analyze data and provide accurate findings. A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas.
