Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach must commit to developing student-athletes on and off the court. This position requires a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor and inspire young athletes. The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to implement training programs, develop game strategies, and promote a positive team culture.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Two years of experience playing or coaching basketball
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Experience: Two years of experience coaching college women's basketball
Essential Functions & Position Duties
* Assist in Coaching and Training: Collaborate with the Head Coach to design and conduct practice sessions, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and game preparation. Provide individual and group coaching to enhance players' technical and tactical abilities. * Game Strategy and Analysis: Participate in developing game plans and strategies tailored to opponents. Assist in analyzing game footage to identify areas for improvement and develop effective scouting reports. * Player Development and Mentorship: Foster a supportive and motivating environment for student-athletes, emphasizing personal growth, academic achievement, and sportsmanship. Guide balancing academic responsibilities with athletic commitments. * Recruitment and Outreach: Assist in identifying and recruiting talented prospective student-athletes. Represent the program at recruiting events and maintain positive relationships with high school coaches and prospective players. * Administrative Duties: Help coordinate team travel, equipment management, and other logistical aspects of the program. Ensure compliance with all institutional conferences.
Non-essential functions of the position
Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Salary: stipend - $10,000-$20,000, dependent on education, experience, and hours
