This is a direct hire opportunity with a fast-paced, growing logistics provider. The ideal candidate will bring experience in transportation operations, contractor management, and a strong customer service mindset. This position offers a competitive pay range of $57,000 to $70,000 based on experience, as well as comprehensive benefits through the employer available including health, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k). This is a full time position on a Tuesday to Saturday schedule.

Assistant Operation Manager Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Operations Manager will support the Operations Manager in overseeing daily performance and execution for a final mile delivery operation. This role involves coordination with independent contractors, managing escalated customer issues, vendor negotiations, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are key.

Support overall operations including staffing, compliance, and performance metrics
Handle escalated customer issues and ensure resolution tracking
Ensure compliance with DOT and internal regulations for independent contractors
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and supporting Independent Contractors
Coordinate vendor and contractor agreements to meet performance and budget goals
Monitor P&L and implement strategies to meet budgetary targets
Conduct team and contractor meetings, performance reviews, and training
Develop quality control incentives in collaboration with leadership
Maintain accurate and updated files for contractors, equipment, and licenses
Address any issues impacting performance, safety, or customer satisfaction

Assistant Operations Manager Requirements and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
Minimum 2 years' experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching
Strong computer proficiency (MS Excel, Outlook, Word)
Excellent communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills
Valid driver's license required
