Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing Services to join our team at Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere located in Dallas, Texas. The Assistant Director of Nursing Services aids the director of nursing organizing, directing, and evaluating activities of the nursing department including standards for nursing practice and the management and development of nursing team members. This role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to customer service through resident focused initiatives that support the mission of the community . Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time, salaried position with a starting salary of $40.00+ per hour. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions: Assist the director of nursing with all functions of the nursing department and assumes responsibility when the director of nursing is unavailable. As assigned, implement, direct, monitor, and report on new techniques, nursing objectives and standards of nursing care. Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the resident’s total regime of care. Oversee and assist in assessment, coordination, planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation in case management and administer direct resident care. Assist in developing policies, directly responsible for monitoring and enforcement of set policies. As assigned participate in assigned resident care programs which may include the Interdisciplinary team, Resident Care Planning Team, the Restorative Care Program, and other programs as necessary to provide optimal care. Foster an environment which acknowledges and supports each resident and their rights to make choices regarding their surroundings and care. Meeting federal and regulatory requirements ensure appropriate staffing levels and forecast team needs with fluctuation of workload. Assist with employment related activities to include team member safety, hiring, performance management, corrective action, team member engagement and recognition, and team member development and training. Implement, monitor, and report on assigned cost control. Participate and facilitate, as needed, resident, quality, regulatory and safety meetings specific to the department and community. Enforce proper infection control practices. Assist, as warranted, in budget preparation and forecasting. On-call duties for staffing and clinical needs. May need to assume the duties of CNA or CMA to ensure consistent quality care is provided. Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures. Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

Requirements: Nursing diploma or associate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing. Bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred. Five to seven years of nursing experienced in a long care facility preferred. Three years leadership experience with demonstrated progressive responsibilities preferably in a long- term care facility. Registered Nurse license, certifications and other licensure required by state regulations.

Possess a thorough knowledge of the federal, state and local laws, regulations, and guidelines for independent and skilled nursing community. ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: The physical responsibilities of this position constantly require effective bending, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. This position often involves medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned or make observations of residents and environment; close visual acuity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, operating medical equipment, reading a computer screen, reading printed material, inspection of small defects, and using measurement devices. The functions of this position are conducted in a temperature-controlled environment and not substantially exposed to adverse environment conditions and may be routinely exposed to working hazards, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, cleaning chemicals, and odors.
INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. This position requires the ability to deal with and find resolution to problems and maintain a productive working relationship with team members and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others. It also requires adaptability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise.
OSHA Category Classification: Category II: Tasks that Involve No Exposure to Blood, Body Fluids, or Tissues, but Employment May Require Performing Unplanned Category I Tasks. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate protective measures should be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.
