Schmidt Construction Company part of the Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Asphalt Paver Screed Operator to work at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The Asphalt Paver Screed Operator adjusts a mechanism on the back of a paver which determines the depth, slope, and width of asphalt laid.

Pay: $28-35

Shift/Schedule: Full Time Day Job w/ Nights and Weekends as needed

Responsibilities

The Operator will:

Places asphalt at the correct grade and slope, according to job specifications.

Perform daily machine inspections and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling

Communicate with office and field personnel

Inspect grade and elevations correctly

Assisting maintenance personnel with repairs

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to read stakes and check grades

Knowledge of materials

Basic mechanical aptitude

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time

Work outside for an extended period of time

Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and other departments

Ability to read and write

Minimum 3 years paving experience
