What you’ll achieve We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Architect to lead the design, evolution, and strategic direction of our Lab infrastructure, operations and services. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in  networking, security, enterprise architecture, and data systems . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in  infrastructure development , with  software development experience & data center design (power and cooling), considered a significant plus. This is a high-impact role that bridges current-state architecture with forward-looking innovation. You will be responsible for assessing existing systems, identifying opportunities for modernization, and guiding the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient lab environments.  You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, engineering teams, and external partners alike. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Architecture Architect and evolve  lab infrastructure to support current and future business needs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure  networking, security, and data architecture  align with enterprise standards Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency Develop and maintain  roadmaps  for lab services and infrastructure evolution Ensure compliance with  security, regulatory, and operational standards Drive  capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery  strategies Consult on the  design and optimization  of lab environments, including power, cooling, and physical layout External Technology Radar & Industry Influence Continuously scan and assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and ecosystem shifts relevant the Lab Services & Operations owned architectures Build and maintain relationships with industry consortia, open-source communities, standards bodies, and technology partners Represent the company at key industry forums, conferences, and thought leadership platforms Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on technology evolution, risks, and opportunities Executive Advisory & Roadmap Development Partner with CTO, CISO, CIO, and engineering leadership to shape enterprise technology roadmaps and investment strategies Translate future technology insights into actionable internal strategies and modernization initiatives Evangelize a culture of secure-by-default development Mentorship & Capability Building Coach and mentor senior engineers, architects, and practitioners across the enterprise Lead internal communities of practice and technical guilds Foster a high-trust, collaborative culture that empowers teams to build securely at speed Qualifications: Required Experience: 15+ years  of experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure architecture, data center operations, or related fields. Proven expertise in: Enterprise networking and security Enterprise architecture frameworks Data infrastructure and management
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to  translate complex technical concepts  into actionable strategies. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field. Preferred Experience: Experience in R&D or lab environments supporting hardware/software integration. Data center design (power, cooling, layout) Certifications such as TOGAF, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent. Background in AI/ML infrastructure, high-performance computing, or edge computing is a plus. Key Competencies: Systems thinking and ability to navigate enterprise complexity. Strategic foresight with a passion for anticipating technology shifts. Influential communicator, comfortable engaging from engineering teams to C-suite. Growth mindset with a relentless focus on learning and enabling others.
