Patient Services Representative
The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and external partners. This role is responsible for managing a high volume of inbound calls while delivering excellent customer service, ensuring accurate appointment scheduling, and supporting clinic operations through effective communication and coordination. This position is 100% onsite and requires Arabic/English bilingual fluency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer a high volume of inbound calls (approximately 6080 calls per day) from patients, vendors, insurance companies, and other medical facilities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by professionally greeting callers, actively listening, accurately assisting, routing, and properly closing each call.
- Schedule, reschedule, cancel, and edit patient appointments via telephone, SMS, and messages received through the Patient Portal, following clinic protocols.
- Screen and route patient calls to appropriate departments to ensure accurate registration, appointment scheduling, and follow-up scheduling within the EMR system.
- Take clear, accurate, and detailed messages using internal communication templates when required.
- Respond to patient inquiries and needs in a timely, courteous, and solution-oriented manner.
- Maintain effective communication and strong working relationships within the department and across other departments to support optimal patient care.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of SY Health programs, services, and workflows.
- Meet or exceed departmental productivity and quality assurance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service, call center, or a healthcare setting.
Language & Communication:
- Arabic/English bilingual required (verbal fluency).
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
