Description

The Ag Tire Technician installs, repairs, balances, and maintains large tires primarily for tractors, semis, ag and heavy equipment. Also inspects tires for wear and damage and may provide customer service. This role often involves using specialized tools and equipment to perform tasks like mounting, demounting, and repairing tires.

Job Duties: Tire Installation: Mounting and demounting tires on rims and vehicles, ensuring proper inflation and balance. Tire Repair: Identifying and repairing punctures, patching or replacing treads, and replacing valve stems. Tire Inspection: Examining tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation. Equipment Operation: Utilizing tire changing machines, balancing equipment, and other tools. Customer Service: Advising customers on tire care, maintenance, and potential replacements. Safety: Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Vehicle Maintenance: May perform other types of automotive maintenance tasks like oil changes, battery checks and brakes when not on a tire service call in the service truck. Job Requirements: Technical Skills: Proficiency with tire changing equipment, balancing machines, and other relevant tools. Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of vehicle systems, basic maintenance and tire mechanics. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy tires and perform tasks that require physical exertion. Ability to pass a DOT physical. Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate tire installation and repair. Customer Service Skills: Traveling to customer and communicating effectively while providing excellent customer service. Safety Consciousness: Prioritizing safety in all tasks and following established protocols. Problem-Solving Skills: Identifying and resolving tire issues and recommending appropriate solutions.
