Days/Times: 8:30am - 1:30pm (Monday through Thursday)
Rate of Pay: $24.00/hr
High School or GED Diploma required
Reports To: Adult Education Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Hallway Monitoring: Actively supervise student movement throughout hallways to ensure order, safety, and appropriate behavior. Address and redirect any inappropriate conduct in accordance with school policies.
- Door Supervision: Oversee building entry points during designated times to ensure security and appropriate access control. Greet and assist visitors, students, and staff as they enter and exit the facility.
- Student and Staff Interaction: Engage positively with students to foster a supportive learning environment. Provide guidance, answer questions, and direct individuals to the appropriate resources.
- Prospective Student Support: Assist potential students by providing information about programs, class schedules, and enrollment procedures. Answer inquiries and offer general guidance.
- Conflict Resolution: Address minor behavioral issues or conflicts in a calm and professional manner, escalating concerns to appropriate staff when necessary.
- Emergency Response: Follow established safety protocols in the event of emergencies, including lockdowns, fire drills, and medical incidents.
- General Assistance: Provide support to teaching staff, administrative personnel, and the site supervisor as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Other duties as defined by the Director of Adult Education
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, education, or supervision roles preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a school setting or working with adult learners.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution strategies.
- Familiarity with emergency protocols in an educational environment.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require walking or standing for extended periods.
- Evening or flexible hours may be required depending on the school's schedule.
