The Administrator I plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a King County wastewater treatment plant and its conveyance systems. The selected candidate will perform fully proficient and intermediate-level technical and administrative functions to support the administrative, maintenance, and financial reporting systems that keep our facilities operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental standards.
This position is essential to ensuring timely coordination, accurate data reporting, and seamless support for plant leadership, maintenance teams, and engineering staff. The work you do will directly support King County's mission to protect public health and the environment through sustainable wastewater treatment.

The Administrative team within the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) section of King County's Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) provides essential support services that enhance the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of the section's operations. This team manages a wide range of administrative functions, including timekeeping, procurement, contract management, data tracking, documentation, and compliance reporting. By streamlining administrative processes and ensuring smooth operational logistics, the administrative staff plays a pivotal role in enabling technical teams to focus on maintaining and improving the wastewater infrastructure.

Job Duties What You Will Be Doing:
Follow established policies and procedures for payroll and time and labor transactions (e.g., review/reconciling weekly time/labor and payroll reports, enter data, file transfer to central payroll system) ensuring accuracy through review of documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies, audit of retained data, coordinating with partners, and applying expert knowledge of the Coalition Labor Agreement and appendices Develop, prepare, maintain, and track operational and administrative information such as mandated operations reports, permits, newsletters, presentation materials, organizational charts, expense reports, and directories Provide high-level administrative support to staff, including preparing and processing documentation associated with travel, training and procurement Research and compile data for information requests, including preparing spreadsheets and/or custom reports Assist in the development and/or revisions to administrative systems within the assigned work unit; help develop monitoring and tracking systems to support work activities, and administer and monitor such systems
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualifications You Bring:
Five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in an office or industrial environment In-depth knowledge and experience with MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook Ability to work independently and on a team with appropriate, professional interactions Ability to analyze and interpret data, agreement/service contracts, union contracts, policies and procedures Ability to research, gather information, and prepare reports in an accurate and timely manner as well as research/reconcile errors and discrepancies Skill in organizing and prioritizing a high-volume workload with strict deadlines Proficiency in reviewing and editing documents for accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to style guidelines Preferred Qualifications: Experience utilizing Oracle EBS Competencies You Bring:

Supplemental Information Working Conditions: Work Location : West Point Treatment Plant - 1400 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle, WA 98199. Upon successful completion of probation (6 months), work may shift to a hybrid schedule, 3 days onsite/2 days remote work Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters Local 117-WTD
