POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED
The Accounts Payable Technician is responsible for ensuring that all expenditures comply with the Budget Administration Policy by checking documents for accuracy and completeness before payments are processed. This position involves managing requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor invoices, along with facilitating communication between employees and vendors. This position receives direction from the Sr. Accountant of Grants and General Ledger and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

Knowledge of: 1. General ledger functions and MCC policy requirements, with familiarity in federal and state grant regulations as they relate to accounts payable; 2. Modern office practices and procedures; Skills in: 3. Organization and attention to detail; 4. Prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to meet necessary deadlines; 5. Effectively utilizing standard office equipment and software, specifically Microsoft Office; 6. Communicating clearly and concisely, both in oral and written format; Ability to: 7. Execute superior customer service at all times; 8. Work independently, analyze data to draw sound conclusions, and assess and apply accounting procedures; 9. Successfully interpret and apply policies and procedures; 10. Demonstrate problem-solving skills to enhance day-to-day operations; 11. Performs well under time restraints; 12. Establish and maintain effective working relationships across campus and with vendors.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activates. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: More than one year of work experience in an office setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience: Work experience in an accounting or accounts payable office setting
