ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST
Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time Shakman non-exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Procurement and will support the function of Accounts Payable. This position will be proficient in processing all incoming invoices for the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Essential Job Duties
Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Review all requests for payment from the Clerk of the Circuit Court's Procurement Department. * Verify all received invoices correspond to an existing approved Purchase Order prepared by Procurement Analysts and ensure that packing slips are attached. * Communicate with Procurement Analysts and vendors to ensure the billing for the purchase order is accurate. * Prepare, validate, and complete reimbursement forms for submission to the Department of Budget and Management Services for Clerk of the Circuit Court employees. * Enter verified invoices into Oracle, Cook County's payment software, for the Comptroller's Office to issue payments to vendors in a timely manner. * Maintain and update internal logs for each invoice and payment issued, ensuring that all payments have been processed. * Prepare required reports detailing open requisitions, purchase order balances, and any additional detailed items to support purchasing activities. * Validate that all outstanding invoices are processed for the fiscal year-end close. * Assist the Budget Analysts in completing monthly ledger reconciliations. * Provide support to the Finance Managers on miscellaneous projects as needed. * Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED. * Two (2) years of full time work experience in financial management, accounting, banking, procurement, budget, or related financial field.
OR
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or Management. (Must be provided before a scheduled interview.) * One (1) year of full-time work experience in financial management, accounting, banking, procurement, budget, or related financial field.
Education/Certifications Requirements

Degrees awarded outside of the United States except for those awarded in one of the United Slates territories and Canada, must be credentialed by either the World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (EGE).

Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit, stand, walk or move for extended periods of time. * Ability to repetitively use hands to operate standard office equipment and handle documents. * Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
