The Accounting Assistant supports the financial operations of a University-affiliated nonprofit organization focused on cultural heritage and education. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, tracking grants and capital projects, assisting with cost and accrual accounting, and preparing accurate financial reports. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and interested in gaining experience in nonprofit financial operations within a mission-driven organization.

Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Data Entry & Reconciliation
* Enter and maintain financial transactions in QuickBooks and Bill.com; reconcile data against internal records and grant budgets; correct errors or inconsistencies.
Grant tracking & Compliance
* Track grant expenditures; verify alignment with funder requirements; assist with preparation for internal audits and may assist with reporting.
Financial Reporting & Recordkeeping
* Prepare routine financial summaries/reports (e.g., expenditure summaries, grant budget updates); maintain digital and physical documentation and receipts * Process monthly bank reconciliations.
Internal Communication & Support
* Communicate with staff to clarify allowable expenses; resolve financial questions; support other finance tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Familiarity with accrual bookkeeping practices, specifically grants and nonprofit environments. * Ability to communicate effectively with various groups/individuals. * Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. * Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
