1:1 Paraeducator in Sidney, OH

This position is for a full-time 1:1 paraprofessional aide to support an 8th grade middle school student with autism. The student uses PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to communicate, and the aide will play a vital role in providing individualized support throughout the school day. Location: Sidney, OH Schedule: Full-time, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Duration: Contract position for the current school year Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one assistance to the student to support academic and social development Implement and facilitate the use of PECS to enhance communication Assist with classroom activities and behavioral support as outlined in the student's individualized education plan (IEP) Monitor and support the students engagement and participation in all school activities Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure consistent support strategies Qualifications: Experience working as a paraprofessional or 1:1 aide in a school setting preferred Knowledge of autism and PECS communication methods is highly desirable Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students and school staff Patience, flexibility, and dedication to supporting the unique needs of the student This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a students educational experience while working in a structured school environment.
