We are currently seeking a Welder/Fabricator Team Leader to join our team, responsible for leading a welding and fabrication team in regards to workflow and quality in our fabrication group. Our group provides services in Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals, Industrial, Hydro, and infrastructure projects under various governing codes.

Performance Objectives:

• Responsible for the planning and timely execution of assigned job(s) within the fabrication shop.
• Lead the daily output of assigned team members.
• Collaborate with Project Managers or Detailers as needed to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Keep daily production on track to the plan and respond to recover when off track.
• Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards by all team members.
• Demonstrate and encourage respectful behavior and communication among team members.
• Participate in the continual development and training of all team members.
• Enforce policies and escalate any issues to Fabrication Foreman as necessary.
• Coordinate with and assist other team leaders.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School education 3-5 yrs of similar shop experience
• Ability to interpret drawings and develop fabricated items from these specifications
• Positive attitude, able to handle difficult situations and competing priorities when they arise Team player, able to take as well as give direction
• General knowledge of welding processes to determine best process for required weldment
• Ability to operate and supervise operation of welding and fabrication equipment in a safe manner
• Effectively communicate and engage all level of employees, reports, and supervisors in a consistent professional manner

General Job Description: This is a working leadership position. While there will be daily leadership duties with this position, it is expected that a large percentage of your time will still be producing weldments and fabricated items. This position requires flexibility as workload demands. There may be instances where workers on your team are not normally in fabrication or are members of another team. Team adjustments are made as workload dictates. Ability to set up and operate welding equipment Responsible for overall safety in welding department. Ensure operators are not putting themselves or others in danger. Report and coordinate any human resource issues with members of your team to Shop Supervisor. Be a team player and contributor in our shop. Keep work space in a neat and organized manner. Show mutual respect for coworkers Show up to work every day at the time required for assignment prep, and at times ahead of your team and on time. Demonstrate positive leadership as team leader. Mentor and teach new employees the skills required to safely operate our equipment effectively and efficiently.
