YOU’LL GET TO: Design potable water, domestic and industrial wastewater, stormwater, rainwater harvesting, and other water resources systems
Perform engineering analyses and calculations Prepare detailed drawings Develop engineer’s reports and plans Assemble permit applications and other regulatory reports Develop construction specifications and contracts Perform site inspections and sampling Perform construction inspections Prepare proposals and manage projects Communicate with clients Manage team members Perform quality control review of report documents Participate in marketing and business development
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. ● Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. ● Maintain quality standards on all projects. Perform site investigations, data collection, site surveys, and field evaluations of existing facilities, infrastructure, and property.
● Career level, fully competent engineering professional with responsibility for managing detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity. ● Independently perform a variety of projects or selected segments of larger projects. ● Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work. ● Work closely with senior-level project managers to gain additional project management experience for more complex and larger projects. ● Make design, engineering, and construction recommendations, adaptations and modifications. Complete construction phase services, such as management of project schedule, costs, meeting attendance, and administrative tasks. Coordinate with operations and maintenance staff periodically on water and wastewater treatment system projects. ● Prepare proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity. ● Perform quality control review of proposals and reports written by others. ● Evaluate complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports. ● Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members. ● Interact directly with client and project team on developing scope of services, communicating project progress and findings and recommendations. ● Write and prepare routine and complex engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations. ● Participate in marketing, sales and business development. Attend meetings (remote or in-person) with clients, field staff and regulatory agencies for project support. ● Supervise graduate, field and project engineering staff.
REQUIREMENTS: ● Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related Engineering degree. ● Minimum 5-8 years’ experience. ● Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to become licensed in Pennsylvania. ● Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: ●5+ years’ experience in potable water, wastewater, water resources design and permitting with an engineering consulting firm or related. Proficiency in technical writing and Microsoft Office Suite Team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management, with the ability to multitask Detail oriented with commitment to providing high quality engineering services as it related to all workspace responsibilities. Familiarity with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) permitting and design requirements for potable water and wastewater systems. Municipal Engineering Experience AutoCAD software experience Experience in field reconnaissance, survey equipment operation, data collection and analysis. Experience or openness to learn design related software as required by project need ( SWMM, HEC-HMS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, etc.) Construction inspection and oversight experience Willing and able to travel to project sites and meetings as needed, including long days and overnight Project Management experience Marketing and client development experience
