About the Role
The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for owning sales strategy and execution across key national and regional retail channels, leading a dynamic sales team to drive revenue growth and profitability in high-volume accounts. You will oversee the full sales cycle—from prospecting and trade development planning to negotiation and closing deals—while leveraging market insights and performance data (e.g. Nielsen, POS) to craft compelling sales stories. This role demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams (marketing, finance, category management) to align on pricing, promotions, and launch strategies and regularly report performance and forecasts to executive leadership.
The ideal candidate brings at least 12 years' experience in consumer goods sales, with direct selling experience into major food, drug, and mass (FDM) retailers such as Walmart or Target, and a minimum of 5 years in team leadership roles. Strong P&L ownership, financial acumen, and trade/customer management capabilities are essential. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting POS/Nielsen data to drive strategic decisions is required. A Bachelor’s degree is typically expected, and excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills are critical for success in this role.
