Robbins, Inc. , is the premier supplier of high performance hardwood and synthetic flooring systems to the performing arts, education, religious, sports, and fitness markets. In more than 65 nations on six continents, performers and athletes compete and practice on millions of square meters of Robbins’ flooring. While best known for its sports flooring – every NBA team plays on a Robbins floor – the company also has developed extraordinary dance and performing arts flooring that it plans to grow further. Robbins Dance Floors is the industry leader in developing and manufacturing high-performance dance flooring systems, widely used in professional dance studios, theaters, performing arts centers, and academic institutions. The company specializes in providing sprung dance floors that are engineered to reduce the risk of injury while enhancing performance, comfort, and durability. Robbins offers a variety of flooring solutions tailored to different styles of dance, including ballet, modern, jazz, and tap. Robbins Dance Floors are recognized for their advanced shock absorption and energy return technologies, which create safe and responsive surfaces for dancers. These floors have been designed with rigorous research and development by the Robbins engineering team with input from professional dancers. Their flooring systems are often used by leading dance companies and universities around the world, including Jacob’s Pillow (Becket, MA), Bass Hall (Fort Worth, TX), Kentucky Center for the Arts (Louisville, KY), and The Banff Centre (Alberta, Canada). THE OPPORTUNITY
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The VP of Business Development, Dance & Performing Arts (VPBD) is a newly created role at Robbins. The organization seeks an individual who will lead its efforts in establishing a product management and go-to-market strategy for dance and performing arts venues, studios, schools, and other spaces. Reporting to Robbins’ CEO Todd Braun, the VPBD will collaborate with a deeply experienced team, including research & development, sales, marketing, and product. The Robbins team anticipates revenue growth of $5M+ over a three-year horizon.
Primary responsibilities of the position are these:
Product Portfolio: learn the Robbins product lines and identify floors that are optimal for the unique needs of the dance industry.
Branding & Messaging: establish a brand strategy and messaging that resonates with dance and performing arts organizations.
Partnerships: serve as Robbins’ ambassador into the dance world, including trade shows, events, and conferences, while building key relationships with dealers, architects, theater consultants, researchers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Market Segmentation: identify target markets and develop strategies to reach those markets.
Collaboration: work closely with the Robbins team, dealer network, and board.
Metrics: establish clear performance metrics to measure, monitor, and report on growth.

An extensive and sophisticated knowledge of – and passion for – the dance world, including training institutions, civic and professional producing companies, and presenters.

Location: Although there are obvious benefits if the new VPBD resides in Cincinnati, Robbins will consider candidates who will be remote. In any case, the VPBD will need to have the ability to travel to trade shows, meetings with dealers and/or clients, architects, theater consultants, etc.

COMPENSATION AND START DATE
The salary range for this position begins at $125,000, plus annual performance-based bonus. This role is eligible for an equity grant commensurate with an executive level role at the company and governed by the company’s Equity Participation Plan. Benefits will include the following:
