Position Summary
ASAE is seeking a strategic and values-driven Vice President of Human Resources to lead the organization’s HR function with a dual focus on regulatory compliance and organizational culture. This executive role is responsible for ensuring that ASAE’s HR practices align with legal standards and best practices while fostering a workplace culture that reflects ASAE’s mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). The VP of HR will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and a champion for employee engagement, ethical practices, and continuous improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Oversee HR audits, policy reviews, and updates to maintain legal and ethical standards. Manage employee relations issues with a focus on risk mitigation and fairness. Serve as the primary liaison for legal counsel on employment-related matters.
Culture and Engagement
Lead initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Develop and implement strategies for succession planning, and training and development. Champion ASAE’s DEIB efforts and integrate inclusive practices across all HR functions. Facilitate organizational development initiatives that align with ASAE’s strategic goals.
Talent Management
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning. Partner with leadership to identify talent needs and develop workforce strategies. Support leadership development and training programs that build internal capacity.
HR Operations and Strategy
Lead the HR team in delivering high-quality services and support to staff. Develop and manage the HR budget and ensure efficient use of resources. Implement and optimize HR systems, tools, and analytics to support data-driven decision-making. Contribute to organizational strategy as a member of the senior leadership team.
Essential Skills
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred. 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR role. Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and risk management. Proven success in shaping and sustaining organizational culture and employee engagement. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Experience in the nonprofit or association sector is a plus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flex hours are available.
Travel
Some travel may be required.
