X-Ray Tech Location: Portland, OR Start Date: End Date: Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Monday-Thursday, 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM (Day shift, 4x10 block schedule); On-call 3 shifts/month Hours per Week: 40 Roles & Responsibilities Perform high-quality radiographic exams across a wide range of procedures, including abdomen, chest, spine, pelvis, upper and lower extremities Operate mobile and surgical imaging equipment such as C-Arm and portable X-ray units for bedside procedures Assist with fluoroscopy studies and prepare/administer contrast media when required Maintain radiation safety, infection prevention and isolation precautions to protect patients and staff Accurately document imaging procedures using Epic and other PACS systems Provide compassionate care for patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics and geriatrics Collaborate with surgeons, ED staff and interdisciplinary teams in acute and outpatient settings Participate in on-call coverage and adapt to block scheduling to ensure consistent patient care Knowledge & Skills Radiography and fluoroscopy techniques Radiation safety and contrast media preparation/administration Portable radiography and C-Arm operation Infection prevention and proper use of isolation precautions/PPE Proficiency with imaging equipment: GE, O-ARM, Philips, Carestream and PACS Ability to perform specialty studies (e.g., barium studies, ERCP support, trauma imaging) Strong patient positioning and musculoskeletal imaging skills About United Health Care Staffing
