Position Summary:
The Nursing Administrator will lead and oversee nursing practice in accordance with the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Modified Primary Nursing Care Delivery Model. This leadership role involves ensuring high standards of patient care, staff competency, and alignment with institutional goals related to patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead nursing practice through relationship-centered care and purposeful hourly rounding (PHR).
Serve as a role model for PHR and verify its consistent implementation by nursing staff.
Evaluate staff competency in PHR and provide feedback, mentorship, and corrective guidance when needed.
Ensure patient rounding is completed each shift through observation and patient feedback.
Collaborate with physician dyads and escalate concerns appropriately.
Analyze and communicate patient experience data and staff engagement metrics to the care team.
Lead the development of improvement plans based on feedback and data.
Provide prompt service recovery and resolution of patient concerns.
Demonstrate caring, compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
Required Skills:
Proven clinical competence in the assigned nursing practice area.
Ability to lead, problem-solve, and promote teamwork.
Physical and cognitive ability to care for acutely ill patients.
Capability to perform clinical procedures (e.g., venipuncture, CPR, catheterization).
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data entry.
Educational Requirements:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field
Experience Requirements:
3–5 years of clinical nursing experience
Prior experience as a Charge Nurse or in a supervisory/leadership capacity preferred
Licensing and Certification:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
