Pay Information $1,894 per week About The Position Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 18 months of PCU RN experience required License: Required Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with traches, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The unit has 32 beds and provides care for various patient types. Patients may include those not requiring mechanical ventilation, such as CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain workup, stroke, abdominal illnesses and infections, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, and ETOH withdrawal. The common RN patient ratio is 1:4 but may go to 1:5 depending on acuity. The facility supports a team environment with CNA assistance for ADLs. There will be a charge nurse available to assist with all nursing care. Phlebotomy services are available, separate from nurse draws. There is 24/7 support from hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapy. Telemetry monitoring is available at both the bedside and nurses' station. Experience floating may be required based on regional needs. Weekends will be rotating every other week, with no call requirements. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off may be approved, with certain conditions. Scrub color is navy.
