Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Specialty: NICU RN (Level III) Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – Level III Beds: 26 Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:2 / 1:1 (depending on acuity) Required Certifications: BLS NRP PALS Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU experience Must have experience with dopamine, dobutamine, versed, fentanyl drips Competence with ventilators, nasal CPAP, oscillators, nitrous oxide (rare; usually handled by core staff) Able to manage surgical cases (gastroschisis, sepsis, etc.) Unit Details: Open bay with monitors; RNs responsible for monitoring No nurse aides on unit Neonatologist and RT in-house 24/7 Giraffes for bassinets Charge nurse covers both NICU and Pediatrics; not on patient assignment (days & nights) Scheduling: 12-hour shifts (7:00 / 7:30 start) Self-scheduling, balanced by manager Every other weekend (Sat & Sun) Holidays: 1 major, 1 minor No call/standby requirements Floating: First to float to Nursery and Pediatrics (sister units) Orientation: 1 day with preceptor on NICU 6 hours Nursery + 6 hours Pediatrics About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
