Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background with experience in critical care settings, particularly caring for patients with complex cardiac conditions and those recovering from cardiovascular surgeries. This role is vital in delivering high-quality, intensive nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide optimal outcomes in a high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide continuous, high-acuity monitoring for patients with life-threatening cardiovascular conditions.
Manage advanced life-support equipment including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and ventricular assist devices.
Administer critical medications such as vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation agents.
Perform complex assessments, document patient responses, and adjust care plans as needed.
Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
Respond promptly to emergencies such as arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, or sudden hemodynamic changes.
Educate patients and families about recovery, procedures, and long-term care needs.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
NY Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2 years experience in the specialty.
BLS (AHA)
ACLS (AHA)
